I have Windows 7 x64 installed on my machine, and I have re-mapped my user folder locations using the registry. I am writing this post for anyone else trying to do this, and the steps should work for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Media Center under Windows 7, but also other versions of Windows.

Instead of the standard C:\Users folder, I have remapped my user folders, Program Data folders, and Public folders to "D:\SYSTEM\Users", etc.
So instead of "C:\Users\[username]" I use "D:\SYSTEM\Users\[username]"
Instead of "C:\ProgramData\" I use "D:\SYSTEM\ProgramData\"
Instead of "C:\Users\Public" I use "D:\SYSTEM\Public"

I did this all using the registry by modifying the registry keys located in:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList"

These steps were taken because I'm running my installation on a 32GB SSD, and I would like to keep my system installation as small as possible, and use my other internal drive for other system files and my personal files.

If you install Vista4Cast this way, it will not launch in Media Center. The first step is to move the "C:\Users\Public\Vista4Cast" folder to the new Users location (in my case "D:\SYSTEM\Users\Public"

Vista4Cast will now launch just fine, however, the Thumbnails will still not work and the MCE screen will show blank screens for the "Now", "Today", and "Tomorrow" icons.

To fix this, change these registry locations so that everywhere where you see "C:\Users" is changed to the new path (in my case "D:\SYSTEM\Users"). I will only list the keys that need changing:

As always, please don't make any of these changes if you are not comfortable editing the registry, and I cannot guarantee any of this since I've had nothing to do with Vista4Cast. I simply found a way to fix it in my case. I suggest the programmers might look into this and find a way to code the variables into the installer in another way so that they get pulled from the registry correctly in order to prevent issues like mine from happening in the new versions.
